Women and Sex
This may sound like a feminist view, but in order for a romance author to truly grasp women and sex, he must embrace the vagina.
Sex Objects
Dating back to Adam and Eve women have always been portrayed as sex objects for the use of men. In the story about Sodom and Gomorrah, angels come to a man and the townspeople try and take them as sex objects. The man defends the angels and keeps them away from the townspeople only to offer them his two daughters. Women and sex have this tie that is objectified and used. In the story about the Trojan War, Helen of Troy is bargained for between two men that only consider her beauty and not her worth as a person. Helen of Troy is one of many sex objects that’s seen, but not heard from, because she is thought to be only a face. The vagina is not just one of many sex objects, it is a place of creation. Sex literature will never fail to remind us of our errors and our victories, but it cannot grow and change without our help.White Europeans that looked to colonize Africa approached the continent with a desire for wealth. They raped the country of its gold, ivory and its women. The term “jezebel” is a crass remark pertaining to African women that were seen as sex objects. The white Europeans saw their revealing clothing and assumed they were overtly sexual, failing to realize their culture and climate deemed it unnecessary to cover their entire bodies. Sex literature returns to this primal state of dressing as a fetish and embellishes on the reality of it.
The Romance Author
The only link between women and sex might be through the romance author as long as he has fully embraced the vagina. Stepping outside of your masculine boundaries to truly represent women and sex is a hard job to take on. For years women have been fighting for equality in sex literature. The vagina can have multiple orgasms while the penis is capable of a smaller amount. The romance author cannot be held accountable for women all over the world, but representing a small few can work wonders.![]() |
